Hello

     In 2011 I applied for Petco's dog training position and received the opportunity to enter into their dog training program. I successfully completed their Positive Reinforcement Training Program, and trained from 2012 through 2018. From my experience working at Petco and interacting with so many pet owners and listening to all their experiences I discovered my true love of working with pet parents care for their pets.

I wanted to continue to expand my education and on November of 2013 I enrolled at Animal Behavior College. During my training program I got the pleasure to mentor under Susan Signor, CPDT from Dog Dilemma L.L.C. in Yakima, WA. My mentorship was one of the most educational learning experiences of my career. I learned so much about working with reactive dogs and puppy socialization. During my mentorship I worked with our family's German Sheppard rescue, Sam and my 4 mo. old Australian Sheppard/Lab mix puppy, Pirate. 

     I completed ABC's dog obedience program in July of 2013 where I learned a variety of training techniques and methods. In applying all I learned and experienced with the dogs I worked with and seeing the positive changes in their behaviors, In my training career it's important to continue to educate myself. To be knowledgeable of different training methods but also in other aspects of pet life. 

 

 I plan to complete additional certifications on pet nutrition, training shelter dogs, & pet massage from Animal Behavior College in the future.
